First Time User Information

First of all welcome and thank you for choosing Manheim Simulcast. In order to maximise your experience with the minimum of disruption, we recommend checking the following settings on your PC or Laptop.

  1. Java
  2. Check you have Java installed on your machine by clicking the Windows "Start" button, entering "Control Panel" and clicking Add/Remove Programs. Check the list that appears for an instance of Java. If there is no Java installation present please visit www.java.com to download (Java is essential for successful connection to Manheim Simulcast).

  3. Pop–up blockers
  4. If you have an internet "Tool bar" installed (Google, Yahoo, MSN etc.) please ensure the Pop-up blocker function is disabled via the toolbars settings.

For Windows XP users, pop–ups can also be turned off by clicking "Tools" at the top of Internet Explorer followed by "Pop–up blocker" and finally "Turn Off Pop–up blocker". Your pop–up blockers can also be re–instated in this way.

  5. Internet Explorer
  6. At present only Microsoft Internet Explorer is compatible with Manheim Simulcast. If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses their own internet browser, please locate and use Microsoft Internet Explorer by either clicking the Windows "Start" button, then click "Run" and type iexplore.exe in the Run box that appears and click "OK" or visit www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx

  7. Company Networks
  8. If you work for a dealership or the PC/Laptop you are using is on a network, port 1702, 9100 to 9105 and 9200 to 9205 will need to be opened by your network administrator. Without this you will not be able to successfully connect to a Manheim Simulcast auction.
